Windows Server 2008 HPC   Windows HPC Server 2008 brings you the ability to run high-end applications that require more resources and higher performance computing clusters — as the name suggests, HPC itself stands for “High-Performance Computing”. As opposed to regular versions of Windows Server, HPC is able to efficiently scale to thousands of cores with unique HPC workload features.   The 64-bit only server operating system comes with the addition of the HPC Pack, which contains features to enhance your business. Cluster utilities, job queue, HPC runtimes, new high-speed NetworkDirect RDMA, and much more are included to ensure your confidence in taking your enterprise to the next level.   In addition to the new features and changes in Windows HPC Server 2008, you still get to enjoy the critical Standard features such as Active Directory services. Any third-party application that doesn't require IIS, Exchange, or MSSQL* will also run identically to Standard editions. The features Device CALs will gain access to include:   Truly remote access: So much of the work experience takes place outside of the office that a server really has to provide remote access if it is going to be worth anything at all. Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services does more than just offer access, though, it provides a quality remote experience that makes it easy to work at a desk in the office or on a beach a thousand miles away.  A safe place to store your data: While many businesses purchase Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services for the collaborative and communication features highlighted below, it is worth remembering it is also an excellent way to ensure data is never lost. The server backs up devices so that files and important data can be preserved, no matter what happens. The server also has more encryption than ever before, so that you can be confident all the data stored and backed up on it is safe. An incredible collaboration experience: This is where Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services really makes its name. By including SharePoint, Device CAL users are able to share and access files easily in document libraries, all while they can keep up with calendars and exchange ideas and updates through any number of documents, such as wikis and surveys. Not much at all, which is why Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services also includes Exchange, so every user has advanced business email capabilities. These include contact sharing, calendars, and well-organized email experience. Altogether, users know they are able to keep in contact with each other and with outside clients in a hassle-free experience. A more powerful and stable server: All of the features in the world wouldn’t matter if the server itself weren’t able to handle the processes required of it. Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services is built to be tough. It includes new power-saving capabilities in its Core Parking feature. Administrative needs can all be found in the Active Directory for more centralized management. There is also a great deal of virtualization potential thanks to Hyper-V. And server commands can now be administered remotely, thanks to PowerShell 2.0. All told, these features add up to a more powerful, more flexible, and more stable server for every device that connects to it. There are no system requirements set for the devices used by users, other than the need for a User CAL. However, for optimal connection, make sure your device has been updated and uses a compatible operating system, in particular, Windows 7.

Windows 10 Pro for Workstation gives you the power through advanced workloads with help from server-grade data protection and performance. Windows 10 Pro for Workstations is designed for people with advanced data needs such as data scientists, CAD professionals, researchers, media production teams, graphic designers, and animators. Get speed through demanding workloads and file transfers Speed: Lightning-fast file transfers for your most demanding work. Uncorrupted data: Automatic corruption repair and persistent memory save data from critical failures. Power: Up to 6 TB RAM to power even your most ambitious vision. Experience the power of high-performance workstations. Support for high-performance configurations with up to 6 TB of memory and 4 CPUs, experience true power in ultimate performance mode to eliminate micro-latencies. Advanced performance: If you use resource-hungry applications, you need an operating system that can smoothly handle large amounts of data without choking. You need one that doesn't make you wait for file saving or transferring, that uses fewer CPU cycles and one that runs optimized for the next generation of hardware. That's Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. Speed through the toughest workloads: Windows 10 Pro for Workstation supports devices with persistent memory, the fastest data storage possible on workstations. Persistent memory also keeps your files at hand if you shut down the system. Server-grade data protection: Microsoft's Resilient File System (ReFS) combined with Storage Spaces provides highly resilient storage for large volumes of data that can be automatically backed up to multiple mirrored drives. ReFS detects if data becomes corrupt on any one of them, and then repairs it across all drives, which helps ensure you're working with clean data. Faster file sharing: Windows 10 Pro for Workstations includes a feature called SMB Direct, which supports the use of network adapters that have Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) capability.  Increased throughput: Leverages the full throughput of high-speed networks where the network adapters coordinate the transfer of large amounts of data at line speed. Low latency: Provides extremely fast responses to network requests, and, as a result, makes remote file storage feel as if it is directly attached storage. Low CPU utilization: Uses fewer CPU cycles when transferring data over the network, which leaves more power available to other applications running on the system. Expanded hardware support: One of the top pain points expressed by Windows Insiders was the limits on taking advantage of the raw power of their machine. Hence, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations has expanded hardware support. Users can now be able to run Windows 10 Pro for Workstations on devices with high-performance configurations including server-grade Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron processors. Persistent memory: Windows 10 Pro for Workstations provides the most demanding apps and data with the performance they require with non-volatile memory modules (NVDIMM-N) hardware. NVDIMM-N enables you to read and write your files with the fastest speed possible, the speed of the computer’s main memory. This gives a persistent memory as well. ReFS (Resilient file system): ReFS provides cloud-grade resiliency for data on fault-tolerant storage spaces and manages very large volumes with ease. ReFS is designed to be resilient to data corruption, optimized for handling large data volumes, auto-correcting, and more. It protects your data with integrity streams on your mirrored storage spaces. Using its integrity streams, ReFS detects when data becomes corrupt on one of the mirrored drives and uses a healthy copy of your data on the other drive to correct and protect your precious data. Install for one device One-time purchase for 1 person Licensed for commercial and home use Be more creative and productive with 3D tools, cross-device experiences, and more. Supports 4K gaming, DirectX 12 graphics, Mixer broadcasting, and a more intuitive Game mode. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 builds on Windows 10 Pro (version 1809) adding premium features designed to address the needs of large and mid-size organizations (including large academic institutions), such as: Advanced protection against modern security threats Full flexibility of OS deployment Updating and support options Comprehensive device and app management and control capabilities The Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 release is an important release for LTSC users because it includes the cumulative enhancements provided in Windows 10 (versions 1703, 1709, 1803, and 1809).  Windows LTSC version is a special Windows edition with long-term support. In the Windows LTSC versions (earlier they were called LTSB – Long-Term Servicing Branch) Microsoft focuses on system stability. In Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019, the operating system doesn’t have the following features  Edge browser; Microsoft Store; Preinstalled UWP apps (apps from Microsoft Store, both official and third-party ones). Even a Photo Viewer must be enabled manually; OneDrive; Virtual assistant Cortana; Windows Ink Workspace, a digital pen; There is no hardware support for VP9/HEVC  ( used on YouTube, encrypted video streams – Netflix, Amazon Video, etc.). In addition, Windows 10 LTSC Start Menu is empty – you won’t see any icons of preinstalled apps. Because of the absence of unnecessary UWP apps, you don’t need to update them (the system downloads and installs only critical security updates), and there is fewer active processes number in the Task Manager. This is why Windows 10 LTSC may be installed on old models of PCs or laptops with 2 (or even 1!) GB of RAM. It also takes up less disk space. Since Windows 10 LTSC is based on the Enterprise edition, there is a set of all necessary software and features to be used in corporate networks (Windows To Go, AppLocker, Local Group Policy Editor – gpedit.msc, you can join this Windows edition to the Active Directory domain, integrated Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) support and User Environment Virtualization (UE-V), Device Guard and Credential Guard, DirectAccess, Branch Cache, advanced telemetry management options, etc.). Microsoft Intune: Microsoft Intune supports Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and later. This includes support for features such as Windows Autopilot. However, note that Windows Update for Business (WUfB) does not currently support any LTSC releases, therefore you should use WSUS or Configuration Manager for patching. Security: This version of Windows 10 includes security improvements for threat protection, information protection, and identity protection. Threat protection and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: The Microsoft Defender for Endpoint platform includes the security pillars shown in the following diagram. In this version of Windows, Defender for Endpoint includes powerful analytics, security stack integration, and centralized management for better detection, prevention, investigation, response, and management. Attack surface reduction: Attack surface reduction includes host-based intrusion prevention systems such as controlled folder access. This feature can help prevent ransomware and other destructive malware from changing your personal files.  Windows Defender Firewall: Windows Defender Firewall now supports Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) processes. You can add specific rules for a WSL process just as you would for any Windows process. Also, Windows Defender Firewall now supports notifications for WSL processes. Endpoint detection and response: Endpoint detection and response is improved. Enterprise customers can now take advantage of the entire Windows security stack with Microsoft Defender Antivirus detections and Device Guard blocks being surfaced in the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint portal. Windows Information Protection: Windows Information Protection is now designed to work with Microsoft Office and Azure Information Protection. For more information, see Deploying and managing Windows Information Protection (WIP) with Azure Information Protection. BitLocker: The minimum PIN length is being changed from 6 to 4, with a default of 6.  Identity protection: Improvements have been added are to Windows Hello for Business and Credential Guard. Windows Hello for Business: New features in Windows Hello enable a better device lock experience, using multifactor unlock with new location and user proximity signals. Using Bluetooth signals, you can configure your Windows 10 device to automatically lock when you walk away from it, or to prevent others from accessing the device when you are not present. Here are the System Requirements Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 Processor: 1GHz processor or faster Memory: 1GB RAM for 32-bit; 2GB for 64-bit Hard disk space: Up to 20GB available Video card: 800 x 600 screen resolution or higher.
